Re: EGM 2018/19

Motion: Have the list of forum admins be reviewed every year, so that the forum is actually admined by either current students or year's grace students rather than ofbs who are no longer associated with the club. This was generally done but I think has slipped since the forum has become less active...

Re: Coaching course

Level 1 coaching and level 1 instructor are different. AFAIK their almost equivalent in what they 'allow', the difference is mostly around focusing on recreational vs competitive (and to a lessor extent adult v children/young adult but this varies from what I understand). The coaching courses focus ...

Re: REC 4 First Aid

I've done the REC4 and to be honest I didn't find it too much better for general paddling/instructing than a REC3. If you're planning on working professionally it's not a bad choice, but you'll generally either just need a REC3 or you'll need a WFR (which is a week long course). Most of the extra co...

Gear for Sale

I've got some gear sitting around that just doesn't get used anymore and I'd like to see someone else getting use out it. - Two pairs of booties (Palm and NRS?). Ones a size 8 and the others are 9 I think. Both well used but life left in them. €10 each - Kokatat Hydrus 3L cag. Red, small mens. Good ...

Re: Level 3

Ahh...
With the new Canoedb system it could be worth it. It's much easier to manage the club's membership and they're being stricter about sitting courses without membership.

Re: Level 3

The cost of the assessment is €15 per person, for successful candidates certs are another €6, but you need to have canoeing Ireland membership now to get a cert. If NUIGKC is still registered as a club you should be able to add members under that. Afaik that should save people paying the €20odd to ...
